After making the decision to leave Berkeley and purchase their dream home on the ocean, Todd and Susie realized the cheapest place available was a one-bedroom loft for $2,900 a month. Between limited access to the back porch, pale tourists obstructing the view and a set of rowdy frat boy neighbors, they passed on that offer and made a life-changing but very economical decision.
