This day

This is going to be short and sweet as Im about to head out the door to do some Black Friday shopping. My mom and I go every single year, and always end it by getting some breakfast afterwards. I love love love spending the quality time with her. Anyways, we are heading out at midnight, so Im scheduling this post ahead of time. I know, shame shame. But, hey–a girl has got her priorities right?! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll! And p.s.–ITS FINALLY CHRISTMAS SEASON!! Just incase…you didnt know 😉

Here we go. As always, please feel free to leave your answers in a comment below. I love to read what you guys think too! 🙂

1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal?

Um, no doubt about it–Cranberry Sauce. Since we were little, my parents have LEARNED that they better be buying a can EACH for my siblings and I. Because, we eat it like there is no tomorrow. I dont know why, but I cant get enough. And only at the holidays. If someone were to try to serve me some at say…..Easter? Uh, no thanks.

And unfortunately, my boy inherited this love from me. He ate a whole 6 slices. No joke. On top of the 400 thousand servings of mashed potatoes and turkey. The boy is a mobile garbage disposal. Seriously.

2. Are you a host or a guest this year at Thanksgiving?

Im a host. My husband is the general manager of a 24 hour restaurant, and they dont close on the holidays. So he has to work and is only allowed to come home for a couple of hours. Its even worse on Christmas. He doesnt come home at all until around 10 pm or later. So we have to host Thanksgiving if anyone wants to see us. Certain family members like to complicate things a bit, but it typically works out pretty well.

3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind?

Christmas lists. My mom always went and got the newspaper with all the ads for Black Friday. My siblings and I would arm ourselves with the ads and sit and write out our Christmas lists. I remember we would “rate” the gifts as to which ones we wanted more.

I cant wait to get Christmas lists from my kids. For now, I just get what I figure they would want. It would be so much easier to actually KNOW what they wanted!

4.You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat one. Which do you choose, pecan or pumpkin?

Hmmm…Ive never been a big fan of either. But this year I really got into the whole “pumpkin” thing so Id probably go with that. T LOVES pecan pie, and my mom always gets it for him. I tried it last year and didnt like it AT ALL! Yuck!

But T swears by it. He even tried to get me to eat it tonight. He was all “Just give it a REAL chance. It begs for you to eat it.”

No thanks, babe. No thanks.

5. Are you a Black Friday shopper?

I LIVE for Black Friday. I mean, I like it more than Thanksgiving. No, thats not true. I like to eat. But its a close second.

My mom and I go every year. We get a couple of things for the boys, but honestly they have better deals on things for around the house. I dont get many electronics for the boys yet, they are still to small. But seriously, I love me some kitchen deals.

Im pretty excited to be heading out at midnight this time. It just seems it gets earlier and earlier every year. We end our shopping adventure by getting some breakfast. I sure cant wait. Speaking of which, I need to go get ready. Happy shopping to my fellow crazies out there braving the Black Friday storm!

Told ya’ll this would be short and sweet. I promise a better post on Monday!

Happy Friday, ya’ll!!
